About this Place
Not just a structure, but a memory of one of Islam’s earliest commanders. The shrine of Zayd ibn Harithah in Karak reflects deep spiritual and historical significance tied to the Battle of Mu’tah
It is not just a shrine… it is a space where history, spirituality, and legacy converge.
Located in Al-Mazar Al-Janoubi in Karak Governorate, the shrine of the companion Zayd ibn Harithah (may Allah be pleased with him) stands as a powerful reminder of one of the earliest commanders in Islamic history and a deeply trusted companion of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. His legacy is closely tied to the historic Battle of Mu’tah, one of the most significant battles in early Islam.
This site is not simply a historical reference—it is a living narrative that reflects the presence of early Islamic leadership in this land, where key events of Islamic history unfolded and left a lasting imprint.
The shrine was reconstructed in 1997 as part of a modern mosque complex that also includes the shrine of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him). Both shrines are connected through architectural arcades, symbolically linking their shared history and heroic roles in the same historic battle.
The shrine is located on the eastern side of the mosque, near the eastern entrance, allowing visitors to access it independently without entering the main prayer hall, while maintaining a peaceful and reflective atmosphere.
When you step into this place, the silence feels different—not empty, but meaningful. It feels as if history itself still lingers in the air.
